James Marroun’s story is one of determination, resilience and vision.
Born into a family of migrants who worked tirelessly to build a better life in Australia, James learned early that success is earned – never given. From a young age, he developed a strong appreciation for hard work, accountability and personal responsibility – values that would later become the foundation of his leadership style.
These early experiences shaped not only his approach to business, but his belief that success should be built with purpose, integrity and long-term intent.
Inspired by his father, Maurice Marroun, James developed a strong work ethic from an early age.
Despite facing dyslexia and learning challenges, he refused to allow obstacles to define his future. Instead, he turned adversity into motivation – entering the workforce early and learning firsthand the importance of persistence, discipline and self-belief.
After experiencing bankruptcy, James rebuilt from the ground up. Applying every lesson learned along the way, he began creating what would eventually become TLH Group – a diversified Trans-Tasman business operating across recruitment, training, construction, civil works, property and infrastructure services.
His journey stands as a testament to the belief that resilience, integrity and vision can transform even the most difficult setbacks into opportunity.
James believes strong businesses are built on people – not just profit.
